Characters of the Hiraya Expanse: An Illustration

The Hiraya Expanse is a fictional group of nations located on the coast of East Antarctica that is dystopian in nature. Its story is set in the 80s as it follows four characters’ journey to piecing together the Expanse’s history.
Carmelo (far left — 1st) is a part of the second generation of genetically modified animal-human hybrids. He is a violins craftsman from Lumkahari and lives with his ill grandpa, who also has a bounty on his head for a crime he didn’t commit.
“Charm” (2nd) is the former princess of Poemtopia. After her family was eradicated during an eruption from a underwater volcano, she went by a new identity. Now she makes a living out of smuggling alcohol into the Hiraya Expanse.
Sarla (3rd) is one of the only fashion models in the Hiraya Expanse. She also works part-time as a weapons engineer for Poemtopia. In an effort to protect her privacy, she always wears a robotic mask. Sarla was born into a family of designers, but developed her passion for tech after she saw Charm tinker with radios.
Dante (far right — 4th) is a former prince of the underworld — also known as Azovion. After being disowned by his parents, he moved to Lumkahari and began herding animals and frequenting bars and shooting ranges.
